Happy 2023 Everyone!

I hope everyone had a joyous holiday season and enjoyed the break from school. It was a nice time to take a break from our usual schedules and find time for family and friends. My family (5 adult kids and 2 crazy pups!) spent time together doing things we enjoy - cooking, reading, playing board games and doing puzzles, and walking the dogs. I hope you have good memories from your holidays too, and that you're feeling energized and ready for 2023!

This week we kicked off the second semester - 3rd marking period. The school year is officially half over already, and we're looking forward to our next chapter. The report cards for last marking period will be available beginning Monday, January 9. Remember, the report card links are no longer being sent directly to parents, rather the district will notify you when PowerSchool has the report cards uploaded. See more information below. And please remember you will NOT be able to open report cards on the UCS App on your phone. It will require a browser.

This week our "Principal for The Day" kicked off. This was from our fund raiser this fall. Students helped make important decisions (in or out for lunch recess?), were featured on our in-house daily announcements, the "Beck Bulletin", and helped out in the lunchroom (dismissed tables!) and at dismissal (waiving off the buses!). I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this, and having 'an assistant'! Some pictures are featured below.

Lost and Found - It is OVERFLOWING!!! With our crazy Michigan weather coats come on and off - and are forgotten on the playground. Lunch boxes must grow legs and run away because we have lots of those. And if you think your dryer eats one sock - you should see how many one gloves and mittens we have!
