The 1920s companies started advertising their businesses or products. Coca-Cola, for example, had posters (like in the picture). This is similar to commercials on your TV.
Ladies get Flappin'
Flappers were young women who changed their hairstyle to short, wore short dresses, and had an attitude. They would go out and partying and living their lives wild and free.
The Gangsters are here
Prohibition banned alcohol. So gangsters had speakeasies, which were basically drinking clubs, involved a password or price to get in. Some gangsters had strict rules that if you didn't follow would have some serious consequences.
TIME for the first issue of TIME
TIME magazine made their first issue on March 3, 1923. It costed only 15 cents and was about Joseph G. Cannon. (Yeah that guy on the cover).
Model Ts Assemble!
Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line. His innovation reduced the time it took to build a car from more than 12 hours to 2 and a half hours.
Stars of the 20s
The first films were called silent films and the stars couldn't talk. Then in 1926, Talkies were invented and they were films where the actors can talk! There were also radios which were like TVs with only audio. Charlie Chaplin was both a silent and talkie film actor.
