The Life of a Band Geek
A soundtrack to my life by Marybeth Cloninger
Dedications
I want to dedicate this soundtrack to the many different people that have made a huge impact on my life in the past four years. I don't even know how to thank you all for what you have done for me: Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Caroline, Amanda, Keever, Daniel, Ben, Emily, James, Jordan, Ashlyn, Carlie, Ashley, Tyler, and Brett. I want to dedicate this to my wonderful family and my dear grandmothers for being so supportive of me and bringing me up in a Christian home. And lastly, I want to dedicate this to my band director, Jason Childers, for being the most inspirational man I have ever met.
"You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon (4:36)
This song reminds me of the four amazing years of being in the flute section of the South Caldwell High School Marching Band. It has always been the song that every flute player knew by heart because of the special flute feature. If it wasn't for being a part of that flute section, and that band, I would not be the same.

"Face to Face" by Daft Punk (4:00)
This song brings back all the great memories that i've had with my freshman bff, Daniel. He has made my senior year much better than it started out as. I hope to be friends with him for many more years to come.
Daft Punk - Face To Face
"Coming of Age" by Foster the People (4:40)
I love this song because it makes me realize that I'm getting older, and getting older means that things change, whether I want them to or not. It also reminds me of my best friend, Kaitlyn, who has been by my side through everything for the past 3 years now. She was the one who really got me into listening to Foster the People.

"Jesus, Friend of Sinners" by Casting Crowns (5:37)
This is one of my favorite songs that helped me realize that I wasn't a true Christian. I've been raised in a Christian home before I was conceived. My parents have always showed me the right ways i've needed to go, whether or not I decided to follow them. I will never be able to thank them enough for that. It also reminds me what awesome youth group I have, along with my youth leaders, Geoff and Angie Day.

"Rather Be" by Clean Bandit (3:49)
This song never gets old to me, even though i've had to play it over 20 times with my flute quartet, or if I hear it on the radio 100 times. It brings back memories of this past summer and it reminds me that even though Caldwell county may not be the best county, i'd rather be here than anywhere else.
Rather Be - Clean Bandit feat Jess Glynne Lyrics
"Memories" by David Guetta (3:30)
This was my theme song for freshman year. Every time I listen to it, it reminds me a lot of my first year of band camp. It was my favorite year out of all four years that i've been in it.
Memories - David Guetta Feat Kid Cudi
"Take On Me'" by a-ha (3:48)
This song has been a jam of mine for quite some time. It was also the opener of the best marching band show i've got to be a part of. It never gets old.

"Kids" by MGMT (6:06)
I always think about my life when I listen to this song. All of the great memories, people i've met, places i've been; I wouldn't change it for the world. Even though the song has a completely different meaning from what I actually gather from it, I still like to think about my family and how I was blessed as a kid to have them.
MGMT - Kids
"Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey (3:58)
This song is very relaxing for me. I would listen to it any time I was sad, or upset. I also love the artist, Lana Del Rey, and the movie that it was a part of; The Great Gatsby. The pictures i'm going to add for this song are going to be the people who have made me feel "young and beautiful."

"Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry (3:09)
I want to dedicate this song, to my overall best friend, as awful as that sounds, Brett Parrish. He has been with me for almost two years now, and even though these past 8 months have been extremely hard for the both of us, we still find our way back to each other. Brett sent me this song the night before he left for college and I have adored it ever since.

"So Good" by B.o.B (3:42)
This was probably my favorite song in that I listen to in middle school. I don't really know why I liked it so much, but now when I listen to it, the first thing that comes to mind is how dumb and ugly I was in middle school. I also like to think about how good my life is when I listen to this song.

"I'm Ready" by AJR (3:55)
I'll never forget the weekend that three of my closest friends and I traveled by ourselves and went to Scarowinds. I've never been able to handle scary things and I was dreading actually going to this event. But we listened to this song on repeat while we waited in the awful long traffic to get in. That night ended up being one of the most memorable nights i've ever experienced. This goes out to my home girls, Carlie, Kaitlyn and Amanda.

"Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" by Fall Out Boy (4:13)
This was the last song of the 2014/2015 marching band show. For me, it has two different meanings. I am thankful for the memories that i've shared with all my friends throughout high school, and i'm thankful for being able to be a part of the best band in the land, or should I say, Caldwell County.
Fall Out Boy - Thnks fr th Mmrs
"These Streets" by Bastille (2:56)
One of my best friends, Tyler Henry, introduced me to this band. This was kinda our song that we would always listen to in his car when we went out. Even though he's gone off to college, I still gladly call him one of my best friends.
Bastille - These Streets
"The Nights" by Avicii (3:11)
This song is important to me because it reminds me to always live my nights to the fullest because i'm never going to be able to get those nights back. Especially now since this is my senior year and my life is about to change. 2014 was probably the best year i've ever lived so far. Hopefully 2015 will be even better.
