The Upbringing of Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford was born in 1871 on the 30th of August. He was a the second son out of 12 children. He grew up on his family farm in Spring Grove, New Zealand. His mother was a school teacher and his father worked as a flax-miller.

Rutherford won the Nobel Prize in 1908 for his investigations on disintegrating elements and radioactive substances.
