In the second half things changed. In the 48th minute Davis for Southampton got the ball. He set up a through ball to Pelle who got tackled in the box by Skrtel. The referee rewarded a penalty to Southampton. Mane steps up to take the penalty. He hits it with power to the left side, but the diving Mignolet saves it incredibly.
In the 62nd minute, Southampton had the ball passing it around the Liverpool players. The ball is passed to Romeu who took the shot from outside the box, and brilliantly saved by Mignolet. When the goal kick came out to the Midfield, Liverpool lost the ball, and Southampton got the ball. Pelle passes a through ball to Mane who takes the shot and scores, hitting the side netting. A top class goal. In the 63rd minute, the game is now 2-1.
In the 83rd minute, Southampton get the ball.It is passed to Pelle who is just outside the box, and curves to ball into the back of the net. Mignolet had no chance of saving it. Southampton came back from 2-0 down, and now the game is tied. The curl by Pelle was absolutely outstanding, twisting around the goalkeepers hands.
In only a minute later the horrible clearance by Mignolet gives the ball to Southampton. Ward-Prowse get the ball giving a perfect pass to Sadio Mane who places the ball into the bottom right corner. The defense for Liverpool was horrendous as they let up the losing goal for their side.
The game ended 3-2 as Southampton went on to win and got a head start in the race to the Champions League spot.
