Holocaust Introduction

The holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were defeated by the Allied powers. The holocaust is a time where the German decided to create horrible facilities such as concentration camps storing Jews there in horrible conditions such as not much food at all, and a dirty living environment. The Germans were even killing Jews in these camps by putting them in gas chambers and or shooting the Jews for one wrong error. The word Holocaust originally from the Greek word holokauston which means sacrifice by fire refers to the Nazi's persecution and planned slaughter of the Jewish people. The Hebrew word Shoah which means devastation ruin, or waste,is also used for this genocide.

Holocaust facts

Between 1933 and 1945 more than 11 million men, women, and children were killed in the Holocaust. About 6 million of these were Jews. Over 1.1 million children died during the Holocaust. The majority of people who were deported to labor and death camps were transported in cattle wagons. These wagons did not have water, food, a toilet, or ventilation.Carbon monoxide was originally used in gas chambers. Rudolph Hess described the process of tricking the Jews into entering the gas chambers as the most wrongest thing any person could ever do.

My Views

My overview of the Holocaust is that it was very harsh and sad time era for the Jews I don't think it right at all what the Germans did. Concentration camps to me was unnecessary they caused a lot of Jews to die. The ghettos to me was just a start for the Germans to take partial control of the Jews by taking their personal items and owning's . Anti-Semitism was wrong in my eyes because it had to with discriminating and hating Jews for no reason at all. And those are my views of the Holocaust and things talked about above.
