Early Release & Parent Teacher Conferences
January 24, 2020
Dear Parents,
Early Release conferences are fast approaching. Dyer students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 20th. Please be sure to note these important schedule changes.
The purpose of a parent-teacher conference is to discuss student achievement and progress. Each parent-teacher conference will last for a period of twenty minutes, and both parents are urged to attend. Please be prompt as these conferences are scheduled consecutively. If a situation arises and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please notify the teacher so the conference can be rescheduled.
To schedule your conferences this year, simply go to our school’s conference site https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Dyer_Elementary_School_3 and click on your teacher’s name. The schedule will open on Friday, January 31st at 4:00pm. There you will be able to see your teachers’ schedules and sign up for a time that best suits you. Computers will be available at Dyer for you to sign-up there as well. The ability to sign up for a conference online will close on Thursday, February 13th at 3:00pm. Please contact your child’s teacher directly to sign up after the close of online scheduling.
We look forward to seeing you during conference week.
Sincerely,
Sally Simmons
Assistant Principal

PAWS News!
Parents,
We are so lucky to have such caring and committed parents here at Dyer Elementary! Your support of our PAWS (PBIS) program is a huge part of our students' success. In addition to our PBIS Rewards App, we are always looking for ways to strengthen the home - school connection. This week in your child's Friday folder, you will find a bookmark that gives an overview of the PBIS (aka. PAWS) program and tips for ways you can utilize positive behavior interventions and supports at home. We hope you will find this resource helpful! If you have not yet downloaded the PBIS Rewards App, please email your child's teacher, and ask them to re-send you an invitation!

Afternoon Alternate Transportation Notification
We know many of you need to change your child's afternoon transportation method from time to time. In order to make those communications easier for parents, and our Transportation Coordinator, Mrs. Carroll, we have created an Afternoon Alternate Transportation Form for you to use. Simply print out the form (link below), fill it in and send it to school in your child's backpack. Of course, a regular hand written note is still acceptable but this form will guide you in making sure all of the pertinent information is communicated.

Also just a few reminders about transportation changes:
- For your child's safety, any change in his/her regular method of transportation must be communicated in writing by 12:30PM of that day. (No faxes, texts or emails are permitted for security reasons except in the case of emergency as deemed appropriate by an administrator.)
- Notes are valid for a maximum of 10 consecutive school days.
- Bus passes are issued for emergencies only.
