Virtual ways to connect with Soldiers
Writing letters to troops is one of the easiest and most meaningful virtual Veterans Day activities. This is a great exercise for children and adults alike. Simply compose personal messages, and then send the letters to active-duty soldiers.
Here are some organizations that send letters to soldiers:
· Forgotten Soldiers’ Outreach
You can also email virtual cards to Amy Sisco at asisco@okvirtual.org to be distributed to local VA’s.
Deployment can get lonely, and a bit of human connection can mean a lot.
Virtual Volunteer Opportunities –
Soldiers' Angels
Soldiers' Angels have thousands of virtual volunteers or "Team Angels" from around the world that work to provide support for deployed service members.
Extra Details for the Parade:
Parade walkers will meet us between 8-8:30 am at the Fred Quin Happy Tails Dog Park outside of the staging/line-up area. Further details will be sent by email the week of the event to those who have signed up to participante in person.
Masks are recomended for our in person event
The in person event is happening during the school day: live sessions and schoolwork will be going on as normal so you will be responsible for making up any work assigned for the day and going back and looking at recordings for the sessions missed. If you are struggling with overdue lessons or keeping up make sure to touch base with your teachers and your CFA.
Sometimes getting out and attending a school event can help you re-energize so you come back better motivated to learn but we also don’t want to set you up to feel overwhelmed from missing live instruction.
