Where the Adventure Begins...
Happy Friday!
ONE AND DONE! We kicked off our annual fundraiser last week and have already gotten some donations in from some of you! Thank you SO MUCH!!! For those that haven't heard yet, we are asking for each family to make a one time donation to our school. You can send in cash or check in whatever amount you feel led to donate. We will send a receipt home for your records. We will use all the money toward materials for our classrooms that students will use directly. This will help us purchase books, manipulatives, toys that support motor development and social skills, and other classroom resources that will maximize learning. This is our once a year fundraiser so please consider making a donation to support ECS! This fundraiser will run until November 17th. Thank you, in advance, for supporting our school!
Mark your calendars for a new event we are incorporating this year! November 14th from 5:30-6:30 we will have our first MATH & LITERACY NIGHT! We are super excited about this event and have been planning for it since last Spring. When you arrive, the first 400 families will receive a tote bag to collect the activities and a free children's book! Then we will direct you to the part of the building you will go depending on the type of program your child attends. There will be stations for you to rotate through at your leisure to collect ideas and materials to support you and your child's progress at home. We hope everyone can make it!

FABULOUS FUN RUN!!
I Want to Hear From You!!
Many of you have posted comments, suggestions or questions on my Parent Padlet. Thank you! It is one of the ways for me to stay connected with you and allows other parents to see your questions. You never know when someone else is wondering the same thing. The cool thing is that it is completely anonymous! So post away and I will be sure to respond.

When we establish clear and consistent routines, we build trust with our children. Predictable routines will help our children feel safe. When our children feel safe they are comfortable exploring new information and new experiences. You may remember your child was worried or scared on the first day of school and after a while those feelings disappeared. That happened because our classes follow predictable routines that foster a safe environment which is now familiar to them.
Routines also help with those not so fun parts of the day like bed time and mornings. Setting up a bed time routine and morning routines are especially important for our preschoolers. A predictable routine gets their body and mind ready for sleeping or stepping into the classroom.
Things to keep in mind:
· 3-5 year olds need 11-13 hours of sleep
· Bedroom should be cool and dark
· Avoid leaving electronic devices and television screen in bedroom
· Have the student participate in selecting school clothes and breakfast as part of bedtime routine
· Make an effort to sit down with them at meal time—breakfast or dinner- all or most days.
· Create a visual chart if necessary---visit the Lending Library for help!
