Yearbook Update
We anticipate the yearbook arriving in the first week of July due to the Coronavirus. The Balfour printing has been shut down until May 18. They are in Dallas, Texas. Once they open, they will work around the clock to get our yearbooks out as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your patience. We will be having a yearbook pick-up date as soon as we know when they will arrive. There will be a notice on this web page and an email sent out.
We do have a limited number of books still for sale. They are $45 as of right now. If they are any extras once we start handing the sold copies to their owners, the books can be purchased for $55. You can order by going to www.balfour.com ,click on yearbooks on the left and type in your school. Once again, thank you for your patience.
Hello
Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone is doing well! We have approximately four more weeks of instruction for the 2019-2020 school year! Please read the information in this letter regarding end of year /closing procedures for the school year.
Students should continue to complete online assignments or pick up hard copies of work the weeks of May 4, May 11, May 18, and May 26.
Remember that our assignments are designed to be approximately 15 minutes per day, per class, but I do acknowledge exact times could vary. There is no set time during the day for when these assignments need to be accomplished. If you have a special situation, please email your counselor, and we will work through it with no worries. The health and emotional well-being of your family is more important than the completion of any of these assignments.
Please remind your child to write their name and their teacher's name on their work if they turn in hard copies of assignments!
Thank you for encouraging your child to stay engaged in the learning process!
End of Year Awards Assmeblies
Unfortunately, we will not be able to host any in person awards assemblies this school year. However, we feel that it is important to recognize our students for their achievements this school year. This year, in lieu of our traditional awards assemblies, we will host two online awards assemblies.
Links will be posted on May 28 at 9:30am for our 7th and 8th grade awards programs. You can find the links on our webpage.

Language Arts Summer Reading Project
In Conroe ISD, we encourage all students to read over the summer in order to enrich learning and provoke thought. Summer reading strengthens reading skills, increases academic achievement, fosters a love for reading, and empowers students to become life-long learners.
"What we know is that children who do not read in the summer lose two to three months of reading development while kids who do read tend to gain a month of reading proficiency..."

Our incoming 7th and 8th graders are asked to complete a summer reading log. Each student should read the book(s) of their choice for 15 minutes a day, Monday through Friday throughout the summer months. Students should keep a log and have their parents sign off each day.
STUDENTS! Keep track of the minutes you read this summer. In August, turn it your reading log for a bonus major grade!
