A Message From the Superintendent
Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of President Trump’s task force, made an interesting comment this week. “You don’t make the timeline, the virus makes the timeline”. Many of you know that Gregg County is under a mandatory shelter in place as of 11:59 p.m. on Thursday March 26th. The order is in place for two weeks. I can say for certain we will not begin school before April 10. At this point I am not going to set a date concerning our return to school. I will say that we will make every effort to bring students back to Spring Hill campuses this school year if the circumstances allow us. We will continue to base these decisions on new data concerning the virus and guidance from local and state health officials.
We will continue to distribute food Monday through Friday from Spring Hill Primary (11:00 am - 12:30 pm) and Leaders Core Park (11:30 am - 12:30 pm). These meals are available for all children 18 years and younger.
Below is the link to our in-home learning web page. We will update our page daily. From this page, students in grades pre-k through 5 can receive their daily instructions concerning tasks that need to be completed. Students in grades 6-12 can log into their Google Classroom account and receive their instructions and assignments. I was very impressed this week as we are able to monitor the amount of students and the length of time our secondary students are spending on their course work. Our students are in the process of creating a new classroom in which they learn.
This week we have passed out over 80 computers and have ordered wireless hotspots for those students with no access. On our Coronavirus web page we have contact information for students who are unable to log into their account. Our Primary and Intermediate campuses also distributed over a thousand packages with assignments for their students.
I hope everyone has a new found appreciation for the staff of Spring Hill ISD. Our administrators and teachers have worked tirelessly this week in assuring that we remain in contact with our students through our shelter in place.
We will continue to leave the track open as long as citizens follow the guidelines posted at each entrance. Group activities with 10 or more participants are prohibited. We also ask that individuals maintain a distance of six feet from other citizens.
All campuses will be closed while mandatory shelter in place mandates are in effect.

Love the Bus Month
Launched in 2007, Love The Bus is a month-long celebration held every February. The event celebrates the importance and role of the yellow school bus in education, with a particular focus on thanking school bus drivers for safely transporting more than 25 million children to and from school every day.

Terry Warr Reflects on the "Fun" of Driving a School Bus
"Congratulations on Employing Such an Inspirational Teacher"
I really enjoyed reading about Ms. Warr and her love of bus driving. Over the years, I did my share of driving buses, but I can’t say I enjoyed it as much as she does. What a blessing she is to those children fortunate enough to ride her bus! Her attitude and obvious love of children help her students begin and end their day on a high note. Congratulations on employing such an inspirational teacher!

A Message From Nurse Jaymie Walton
Spring Hill Parents,
FLU season has arrived!
Common signs and symptoms of the flu are fever greater than 100F, coughing/sneezing,
headache, body aches and extreme fatigue.
Please help us minimize the spread of the flu by keeping your student home if they have a fever
greater than 100F. Your student must also be fever free for a full 24 hours WITHOUT the use of
fever reducing medications like Tylenol or Ibuprofen before they can return to school.
Good handwashing, staying home when running fever and exhibiting flu symptoms and yearly
flu vaccines are the best way to protect your family and reduce the spread of the flu.
Thank you for helping us keep our Spring Hill students healthy!
