Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

This has been a unique start to the school year as we all transitioned back to full time face to face instruction. During the first quarter we always focus on our established school-wide procedures and routines. We expect all students to SOAR (Strive to do their best, own their actions, have a positive attitude and show respect). This has been a challenging transition for some of our students as they get acclimated to being a middle school student in addition to relearn how to be a student post pandemic.

As we are approaching the end of the 1st quarter, it is extremely important that we continue to work together to ensure that all student needs (social emotional/ behavior/ academic) our met. Our faculty is constantly working on building capacity with students by focusing on instructional strategies that challenge all students while scaffolding knowledge to accommodate students who may need a little extra help.

Please be sure to use parent portal to check your students grades on a weekly basis. Also please mark you calendar for our Parent Conference Night November 2nd. This will give you a chance to meet with your child’s teachers and receive parent resources to help you with your middle school student. Be sure to follow Horizon Middle School on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We appreciate your support and know that by working together that our students will SOAR!

Sincerely,

Michael Ballone, Principal

Out of Field Teachers

We are proud of our teachers and the certification each one has through the State of Florida. All of our teachers are “highly qualified.” The following teachers are out-of-field, but have made a commitment to work toward this certification/endorsement.
