Cafeteria Monitors Still Needed Immediately!
Note From the Principal
Boone Busts Some Moves!!!!
Look-out world, Boone has got the moves on you!!! Last Friday night we held our first ever Boone School Dance. It was a HUGE success. Although I doubt we will be knocking anyone off the stage at next year’s Grammy Awards, our students certainly showed their moves. From all the tired faces covered in huge smiles as they were leaving, I feel comfortable in saying this year’s dance will not be a one-time only event. I would like to send out a huge thank you to our Fabulous PTA and their awesome work pulling this off. With this being the first dance at Boone, we did limit the students to 3-5 graders. However, I hear there are more events like this in the works and may include other grades as well.
This is the time of year for Spring conferences here at Boone. If you have not received information about setting up your Spring conference with your teacher, please contact them directly. This coming Monday, February 20th, is a Parent/Teacher conference day for all AISD elementary grade students. It is also a student holiday, so the children will be at home on Monday.
Thank you to the many of you who read the last Boone Bear Facts and have once again started using the orange rider cards during dismissal. However, we still need to see a few more in those car windows. Please don’t forget to have your orange car rider signs prominently displayed at dismissal. There are times when we have other teachers covering these duty responsibilities for a variety of reasons and although many of the teachers know you by sight, there are times when someone else is on duty that may not know you and the signs help all of us in communicating, which in turn helps to keep our students safe.
Boone Garden Work Day
Saturday, February 25th at 10:00 am
We are having a Boone garden work day, which should only take a few hours of your time provided we have a good turnout! Snacks and water provided. We will be at the garden plot behind the school near the track. You are welcome to bring any gardening tools, gloves, and your green thumb! Our goal is to plant our spring garden. Big and little gardeners are welcome! We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please email Kareen McCarter at kareen.mccarter@austinisd.org or Jennifer Sladek at Jennifer.sladek@austinisd.org or Erin Murdock at erin.murdock@austinisd.org.
Looking for Your Child's Jacket or Coat?
P.S. Writing your child's name inside the jacket will help us connect jacket with child at school.
