HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 1 May 3 2019
We are very pleased to welcome you back after what we hope has been a lovely break with your children. We particularly welcome Kai Duffield and Noah Aquilia and their parents Alison & Michael and Mia and David who are joining Holy Rosary for the first time. We are very pleased that you have joined us and we wish you a wonderful Holy Rosary experience. This is a rare place.
It has been good for the soul to see the children so keen to get back in to their school, to embrace the adventure ahead. We look forward to a wonderful term together.

SIGNING IN AT THE OFFICE:
It is important that everyone signs in at the Office whenever they enter the school between 8:45am and 3:00pm even if only dropping off lunch or forgotten items.
Please endeavour to get your children to school on time in the mornings. Supervision for Years 1 - 6 begins at 8:15am, unless involved in before school training. Classroom doors open at 8:30am and the bell for the start of lessons goes at 8:45am. Children must be signed in on the iPad in the Office when arriving late (after 8:45am) or leaving early.
Disabled Bays - Please do not park in the Disabled Bays at the front of the School if you do not have a Disability Parking Permit. It makes it very difficult for families with wheelchairs if there are no bays available to use.
The Principal's parking bay in the Staff carpark has been auctioned off to a parent. Please do not park in this bay.
The paved area in front of the school is not a parking area!
Drive Through - Please do not park in the following areas:
- the drop off zone in front of the OSHC - it makes it impossible for parents to drop their children off safely as well as blocking in those cars parked correctly in the allotted car spaces.
- between the base of the ramp adjacent to pre-primary, and the stairs at the church - this blocks access from the ramp across to the footpath that leads in front of and around the church. Many children walk or ride this way. Their safety is everyone's priority.
- the bays in front of the Church.
Also we ask that you endeavour not park on resident's verges or driveways around the school when you drop off or pick up your children and please observe the No Standing signs. There is parking available at Hale Hockey Carpark. It is important that our kids get to and from school safely, and that we maintain good relations with our neighbours.
Areas marked with a star below are NO PARKING areas.

SEEKING GROUP OF PARENTS TO ARRANGE SOME FUN!
Last year we had A LOT of fun at Musical Bingo. And the year before we had A LOT of fun at Bogan Bingo.
What should we do this year?
The last two events were a team effort – parents getting together and having fun planning the fun. Others quickly join in when things start to happen! Meetings on lounge carpets, in cafes, in the parking lot… you know how it is!
We’re thinking end of Term 2.
If you have a group of people willing to lead the charge, we know you won’t be short of helpers.
Let us know via the office or Messenger and we’ll be in touch!

WOOLWORTHS EARN AND LEARN 2019
We have again registered for the Woolworths Earn and Learn program. Between 1 May and 25 June 2019 please collect as many stickers as you can. (For every $10 spent at Woolworths you get a sticker.) The more stickers we receive the more equipment we will get from Modern Teaching Aids.
Welcome back! This week in the Library we have been learning about the first ANZAC who set foot on the beach in Gallipoli. Lest we forget.
This term is super busy with the Junior Chess Tournament (yrs 1-3 can register on the library door before Friday 10th) and our Scholastic Book Fair in week 3 on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th of May. The Book Fair provides our Library with many new free books as well as raising money to increase our budget. Parent volunteers really do help our Book Fair to run smoothly. If you can assist, please complete the Google form below.
May the 4th be with you!
