The Black Student Union is one of the largest organizations on Loyola's campus. It holds steady to its principles of building diversity, assisting the student body, and always providing integrating activities for the student body. Established in 1969, the Black Student Union is dedicated to the founding principals of education, social, and service.

Celebrating 44 Years at Loyola University of New Orleans!
We are celebrating our 44th year here on campus at Loyola University! To celebrate, BSU is having its' own week from speaking about diseases prominent in the African American community to a Colorism Panel, we are covering it all in order to honor the organization's accomplishments.
2013 Loyola Week Window Painting Contest Winners!
To bring in the festivities for Loyola Week, BSU took part in the first Window Painting contest here on campus. The theme was Ignatius' famous quote, "Go forth and set the world on fire." With the help of volunteers the Black Student Union was able to win the design contest which granted them with a $200 reward for their organization.

TAKE BACK THE NIGHT
Take Back the Night is an internationally held march and rally intended as a protest and direct action against rape and other forms of sexual violence. The Black Student Union recently took place and marched the streets of New Orleans supporting the cause.

"Though we had a rocky start at the beginning of the year, it's normal, all organizations do. Moving forward to the final stretch of the year, the Black Student Union is becoming stronger than ever. We are finally learning how to work as a team. With your support we are able to accomplish more than ever before."

The General Assembly will be a Colorism Panel dedicated to the discrimination and prejudices surrounding human beings and how they are treated differently based on the social meanings attached to skin color.
