Gratitude: WEEK 4
Happy Sunday Buccaneers,
Please make note that this is a short week. Monday will be an "A" day, Tuesday will be a "B" day and Wednesday will be a minimum day schedule. We do not have school on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th. We return to distance learning on Monday, November 30th.
As we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, we want to take a minute to share a few of our thoughts with you. We are thankful for our students who participate in distance learning every day, complete their activities, share and help others with a desire to learn. We are also very grateful for all of our students who shared their thoughts and emptied their cups during our Personal Education Plan Presentations last Wednesday and Thursday.
We are thankful for our parents, families, and community partners. We are thankful for all of our staff at Southwest Middle; our Buccaneer staff genuinely care about our young scholars and care about our student's well-being and academic growth.
Finally, on behalf of our Administrative Team, we wish our SOM staff, students, and families a happy, healthy, and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.

Veterans & Military Families Month
Veterans & Military Families Month was established in 1996 by the Armed Services YMCA, with the U.S. Government recognizing the occasion every year since. Each November, the President signs a proclamation declaring November National Veterans & Military Families Month, and with hundreds of thousands of service members deployed overseas, recognizing the daily sacrifices made by active duty, Guard, and Reserve military families has never been more important.

National Diabetes Month
National Inspirational Role Models Month
November recognizes National Inspirational Role Models Month. No matter your age, gender, or stage of life, having someone who inspires you to be the best version of yourself is always a positive thing. Perhaps it’s a friend, a celebrity or an activist. Whether the person is high-profile or not isn’t important. Their character and ability to inspire, guide and teach carries much more value. This month, focus on the person who motivates you and thank them for the leadership.
