September 2019
Principal's Corner
Over the coming days, we will be busy establishing routines and getting things up and running. In the office, my door is always open. Please feel free to reach out by email, phone, or in person. I will be happy to make an appointment to meet with you. As well, I am delighted to have a committed team of educators to lead Sheldon Coates in its new phase of growth and development, so please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher to start forming a connection right away.
I, along with the staff, are excited for the grand opening of our preschool and we can't wait to meet all of the children who are part of this inaugural year. We are also thrilled to see the outdoor learning program of kindergarten be extended into our preschool programs, as well as into our older grades. As the year progresses, please keep your eye out for more exciting changes and activities.
I look forward to a big year of learning, exploring, and creating!
- Mrs. Michelle Bolay

Sheldon Coates Preschool Program
This month preschool is working on learning 'All About Me'! We will be getting to know each other, playing name games, discussing our differences differences and similarities, likes and dislikes, and who our families are! We will be touring the school this week, and all classes will celebrate pirate day later in the month! We are looking forward to learning more about each other!
See you at preschool,
Miss Sharlee and Miss Catie
Leader Teams
We have exciting things happening at Sheldon Coates! Every Friday from 9:30 - 10 am, all students will take part in a leader team. The leader teams offer students a hands-on way to apply their skills in a real world context. Staff members have been working hard to design teams that are educational, fun, and offer students an outlet to explore and create. There are a variety of teams to choose from, and we will do our best to place students in the teams of their choosing. Students will be in their teams from September 20 to January 31. We will then revisit the teams and the team options, and allow students to try out new teams, if they would like. The Leader Team forms will go home with students at the beginning of September, and students can choose their top three team choices.

- Please follow all signs when picking up and dropping off students. The bus needs to have an open bus lane to go in and out.
- If you haven't already done so, please use the snapcode emailed to you from head office to confirm your child's registration for this school year. If you have any questions, or need a snapcode, please contact the school
