Lions Park Remote Learning Update
LETTER FROM THE Princpal
Dear Lions Park Families,
We were sorry not to have many of your children return to Lions Park this week. The good news is that we have everything organized and ready for whenever they do return to school. In the meantime, our staff continues to work hard to provide the best possible learning experience virtually.
We were happy to have the opportunity to commemorate Veterans Day with our students. Most classes watched the Mount Prospect Veterans Day ceremony. Unfortunately, the village had some technical difficulties that may have resulted in some classes not viewing the entire ceremony. Thanks to Mrs. Jorgenson's class for contributing to the ceremony by recording a video message. Lions Park has had a long standing tradition of participating in this ceremony, usually by performing a song in person at the Lions Park Recreation Center. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come!
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly

Letter from the PTO Presidents About Return to School Task force
Lions Park Parents,
District 57 will be forming a Return-to-School Task Force in order to provide input to the Board of Education about what the return to school might look like in the future. Representation on this committee will consist of representatives from District 57 parents, staff, and administration. The PTO Presidents from each D57 school has been asked to help identify potential task force members from our school community.
If you are interested in being considered as a parent/guardian representative for Lions Park, please submit a request form from the link below by Friday, November 20 at 4 PM. The District is looking for a broad representation of viewpoints and backgrounds and will be following up with nominated parents/guardians. You do not need to be a PTO Member to be considered.
Task Force Commitments:
- The Return-to-School Task Force will meet 1-2 times per month beginning in December and will meet for a total of 4-5 times.
- Meeting times will alternate between 3:30-4:30 PM or 7-8 PM and will be held remotely via ZOOM.
- The Lions Park PTO is asking you to provide updates from Task Force meeting at our monthly PTO ZOOM meetings on January 4 and February 1 at 8pm.

Technology Issues
Although technology can work well, there are times when it just does not work correctly. Teachers will not be available to respond to emails during instructional times. Instead, please submit a Remote Learning Technology Support form by clicking here. Once submitted, someone from our District Technology Team will contact you to provide assistance.
If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Restart the Chromebook (make sure it turns all the way off before turning back on).
Quit any unused applications.
Sign out of an application if it's not working, and sign back in.
Move closer to your internet router if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Turn off any accessibility features i.e., contrast mode, special cursor that may be set on the Chromebook. These can cause applications to run slow.
