Message from Dr. Harmer-Audubon Community Walk Through

Join us for a final farewell to the former Audubon Elementary School. The building is scheduled for demolition in June 2023, and the district has organized a walk-through event to be held at the site tentatively on March 23, 2023 from 5pm-7pm.

Address: 2765 Egypt Road, Audubon, PA 19403

This event provides an opportunity for community members to come together to tour the building, share their memories of the school, and celebrate the many years of learning and growth that took place within its walls. We hope that you will be able to join us for this special occasion.

***Please note that due to the required abatement process and removal of supplies from the building, the planned date for the walk-though could be rescheduled. We will communicate a date change should the need arise.***

What Are Coughs?

Coughs are one of the most common symptoms of childhood illness. A cough can sound awful, but usually isn't a sign of a serious condition. In fact, coughing is a healthy and important reflex that helps protect the airways in the throat and chest.

How Can I Help My Child Feel Better?

  • A cool-mist humidifier in your child's bedroom might help with sleep.

  • Brief exposure to cool air outdoors can relieve the cough. Make sure to dress your child appropriately for the outdoor weather for 10–15 minutes.

  • Cool beverages like juice can be soothing and it is important to keep your child hydrated.

  • Cough drops are OK for older kids, but kids younger than 4 years old can choke on them. It's better to avoid cough drops unless your doctor says that they're safe for your child.

Counselor's Corner

It’s hard to believe that it’s March and Spring is right around the corner! We are still having a lot of chilly days and it can be hard to be stuck in the house. One calming strategy I wanted to share is a mindful activity where you think about your 5 senses.

  • 5 objects they can see right now.
  • 4 objects they can feel or touch right now.
  • 3 things they can hear right now.
  • 2 things they can smell right now.
  • 1 thing they can taste right now.

This activity can help to keep you present and get back to calm.

Thank you for your support!
