LHS Counselor Newsletter

End of School Year Issue (May 2021)

LHS Students and Parents,

We are in the final three weeks of school. It is so important to get in touch with teachers now to catch up and turn in any missing work. Most class work will need to be finished by May 14th in order to prep for final exams. Please communicate with your teachers via email, Canvas, or Webex to get the work done. You can do it and finish strong!

2021 Virtual Learning Academy Summer Courses

Open for credit recovery students or students seeking original credit in a course.

The Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) in Lewisville ISD is pleased to offer a robust set of summer online learning opportunities. This summer we will have a nine-week ONLINE VLA summer learning session with classes starting on June 1 and ending July 23rd. During this time, students have an opportunity to take anywhere from 0.5 credits to 2 credits. However, we suggest students not exceed 1 credit attempted during this period. Keep in mind that a student taking a one-credit class will actually need to enroll in two half credit classes such as Algebra 1 A (0.5 credit) and Algebra 1 B (0.5 credit) to get the full credit and that each half credit class is taught in approximately 4 weeks.

Please visit your Skyward account under ONLINE FORMS to register for VLA.
