Follow Up: ASIS Walkthrough on March 6
We had our first unannounced ASIS Walkthrough on Wednesday, March 6th. Due to their timing, we were not able to visit all classrooms. We will have another unannounced visit prior to Spring Break. Below are some of the Glows and Grows from the classrooms we were able to visit.
Glows:
Student Engagement was very high
Goal Setting was evident across school in multiple ways
Appropriate Use of Digital Tools in every room -
Flexibility within the classroom environment
Grows:
Alignment of "I Can" Statements to classroom practices and standards being taught
Adhering to scheduled Intervention Time built into schedule
Students accountability in centers/rotations
Use district purchased programs (Freckle, MyOn) instead of Epic - this helps to increase student accountability of digital tools.
Follow Up: State Wide Tornado Drill
You only need to move from your classroom to you safe location in a Tornado Warning.
If we have individual feedback for your class on your location during the drill, we will contact you individually.
Tornado Watch: Conditions are favorable for a tornado. Classes that meet outside the building need to quickly move into the school building.
Tornado Warning: Announcement will be made over the intercom). Follow procedures to move your class to a hallway. During a drill, please instruct students to move to your designated area (away from drafts and windows), to sit or stoop in a crouched position with hands and arms protecting the head. Wait until the "all clear" signal is given before returning to the classroom.
