Casa Ginkgo
Children's House (33 months - Kindergarten)
“The child becomes to see that he must respect the work of others; not because someone has said he must, but because this is a reality he meets in his daily experience.” (Modern approach pg. 59)
Dear Families,
I hope you had a wonderful time at home with your family! It is so lovely to be able to experience many activities, new games and of course many tasty treats with our loved ones during the Thanksgiving break. One of the things I enjoy very much and always look forward to is when the children return to school and share their stories and things they did with their families.
One of the highlights of our busy Casa was our lovely Thanksgiving Feast where the children participated in what to bring and in the preparation of our delicious vegetable soup. Also, every year we prepare our popular Friendship Fruit Salad where every student brings their favorite fruit to add to our fruit bowl. The baked sweet potatoes, green beans, and bread were a simple but tasty addition to our menu! The children eagerly prepared everything; from washing, slicing, to setting the tables and embellishing them with flowers. We enjoyed our family style feast!!
Our other fun project was preparing the boxes for our Food Drive and warm mitten donation. The children really had a fun time adding their handprints and some of their artwork to the boxes. We will have another busy month ahead and we will make sure to be present and enjoy every heartwarming experience with the students. We will continue to converse about family, friendships, helping and sharing and we will focus and encourage acts of kindness all around us.
Also, we will be learning about various holidays and how people celebrate around the world. If you would like to share with us how your family celebrates these festivities, please let me know, we would love to have you come and spend some time with us in the Casa.
Thank you so much for attending conferences and for providing a delicious lunch for all of us.
We wish you peace, health, love and happiness throughout this season and the upcoming year!

Reminders & Special Notifications
· Please arrive on time. Our session begins at 9:00 a.m. A quick and lovely good bye right at the door of the Treehouse or right by the cubbies in Casa Ginkgo will help prevent separation anxiety on some children. An adult will be greeting each student and ready to help them with what they need.
· Please feel free to stop by Casa Ginkgo every time you have an opportunity, it would be nice to say hello and also for you to check our bulletin board updates.
· Thank you for being extra careful and not sending anything that may have Eggs, Peanuts or Tree nuts in their lunch. Your help is truly appreciated it.
· Also, there is no need to send juice boxes in your child’s lunch, we provide milk and water daily. Thank you for preparing well balance lunches.
· All nap items will go home on Friday to be washed, but please be so kind to send them back on Monday.
· Please make sure your child has appropriate clothes for the outdoors, we try to go outside daily.
If you ever have a question or concern please don’t hesitate to call me or e-mail me.
