Big picture

Yearbook Distribution

We received information from Lifetouch that yearbooks will be passed out in the fall. Watch for more information.

Art Work from 2019-20 School Year

If your student is currently in 7th or 8th grade and they had Art last year, their art project(s) will be in the Media Center for them to pick up between 8:10-2:40 on March 1, 2, 3, and 4. They will be sorted by project. This includes clay projects and any 2-dimensional work that was displayed around the building. This does not include items in storage trays. Please reach out to Mrs. Abegglen or Mr. Nielson individually if there is a need for those materials. If your artwork is not picked up and you don’t connect with the teacher your work will be recycled.

Conference Feedback Needed

We are so happy to have returned to Hybrid learning. It was wonderful to have students and staff back in the building. While it is hard to believe, we are already planning for the next school year and would appreciate your feedback. In this email is a short, linked survey about parent teacher conferences. Our Student Led Conference committee received a lot of positive feedback about virtual conferences. We are curious to know what the parent community would like with regards to structure for future parent teacher conferences. The survey is three questions and should just take a few minutes.

As always, we appreciate your partnership as we look to support our students.

Current 6th Grade Students Needed for AVID Program

Greetings, 6th grade families!

The AVID application window for the 2021-22 school year opens this week! AVID is a college preparatory elective class that is offered to 7th and 8th grade students by application. AVID is a rigorous, active, and collaborative environment where students have fun while building the skills they need to excel in high school and college. Most AVID students go on to take High Performance and Advanced Placement classes in high school. CLICK HERE to access our MGMS AVID website where you will find more information on the program and the AVID application!

Questions? Email Julia Fromm-Mohlencamp, AVID Coordinator

Information from the District Covid Response Team

Attendance Reminder

If your child is going to be absent from class due to any reason (sick, out of town, doctor appointment, etc) please call the attendance line so your child can be marked accordingly. While in hybrid learning, attendance needs to be handled the same as if they were in person. Also, if your child or anyone in close contact with your child tests positive for COVID-19, please report that to the school.

Students Enrolled in the Distance Learning Academy

Maple Grove Middle School will be open for students in the Distance Learning Academy to pick up materials on Fridays from 10:30 AM-5:00 PM. Materials will be available at door #1 (by the flag pole), which is the front entrance of the school.
