What's been happening in the library?

The library has been busy since the first full week of school with research lessons, technology projects and book check outs. Here are some stats for the first nine weeks:

  • 3,369 library items checked out
  • 717 individual student visits
  • 32 class visits to the library

Collaborations we have worked on:

  • Library orientation & check out with every single student at BMS during the first week of school through Language Arts (Thank you, Teachers!).
  • Research with Noodletools, keyword search and evaluating websites with Mrs. Whisenant and Ms. Russ's eighth grade students.
  • DISCUS research with Mr. Smith, Mrs. Yarborough, and Mr. Abernathy's sixth grade students
  • Copyright and citing sources with Mrs. Reeves, Mrs. Myllykangas and Mrs. Cordova's sixth grade students.
  • Evaluating websites with Mr. Ellisor and Mrs. Mixson's sixth grade students.
  • Fiction and nonfiction book pass with Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Paces's seventh grade students.
  • Wrestlemania Reading Challenge promotion and check out through Language Arts with all grade levels.
  • Element research and commercials with iPod touches with Mrs. Schuldes and Mrs. Eisele's seventh grade classes.

Suggest books to add to our library collection, suggest songs to play on the morning news show and write a book review to add to our BMS Lightning Reads Book Review site.
