CSD Superintendent Update

WEEK #37, 6.3.22, Cambrian School District

Big picture

Dear Cambrian Families,

We are in the home stretch to the end of the 2021-22 school year. I hope you and your family have some fun and exciting plans for the summer. As we wind down the school year, I encourage you to explore summer learning opportunities, and make memories with your family.

Thank you to all of the students who have helped me with my newsletters this school year, by holding signs and marking which week of school we completed. (Thanks to Steindorf 6th grader Zoey Drew, above!) Your bright, smiling faces have served as an encouragement to all of us.

As we close down the school year, again I’d like to say thank you to our amazing families, students and staff for your exceptional support and commitment to Cambrian School District. We have accomplished so much during this 2021-22 school year.

Youth in our county have an opportunity to develop leadership skills this summer as part of Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders. Students ages 13 and older throughout the state will connect with their peers, policymakers, researchers and advocates. The Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders has extended its deadline for applications to Wednesday, June 15.

This free conference scheduled for June 20-22 encourages students across California to participate in leadership and civic engagement. Participation at this conference helps budding student leaders find their voice and provides opportunities to learn, lead and make positive changes in areas affecting their communities.

Adults can participate as allies by encouraging students to apply and attend the conference as well.

The San Jose Public Library welcomes all ages to read, learn, explore and have fun this summer in their annual learning program. Participants will be eligible for fun and exciting prizes including books, electronics, toys and games. Participants ages 0-18 will also be eligible to receive two free prize books of their own choosing at any SJPL location.

Just because school is out soon doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear about your child’s achievements! We’d love to brag about your student this summer, so if you’ve got some great news to share, send it to Dawn Klavon (klavond@cambriansd.com) so we can share the news on social media. Remember to share a photo as well!

Wi-Fi Hotspots Available Through San Jose Public Library: You can now check out a Wi-Fi (wifi) hotspot with your library card. This service is FREE and available to everyone.
