Salmon's Week 5 Update
October 2nd - 6th
Overview of the week
Reading: We will be reading Paul Bunyan. Our target skill is RL.7 comparing/contrasting visual, oral and different versions of a story. We also will understand how images support the story better.
Science: We have started studying the Human Body and the different systems with in our bodies. Our focus is the skeletal, muscular, circulatory and nervous systems.
Social Studies: We will continue with the Southwest Culture and history of the region. We will be moving on to the Southeast region in the next week. I do not plan to give a quiz over the entire region.
Writing: First quarter we are targeting narrative writing at this time focusing on ourself and personal narratives. Students are expected to write a narrative with a beginning, middle and end. Narratives must included dialogue as well as vivid details.

Please remember to send a note to me via email or call the office if you child is out. I know it is hard to remember, but then we don't have to call. Thank you for the help with this matter.
October 11th: Early Release
October 19th and 20th: PIR Days (no school for students)
November 3rd: Early Release
November 14 -16th: Parent Teacher Conference Week (Tuesday and Thursday will be the late evenings.)
November 22nd - 24th: Thanksgiving Break (no school)
