Newest Updates
- teachers need to be reaching out across the week to students
- need to be making sure they still have internet and food at home. If there is a change, please submit a new entry on the google form. https://forms.gle/zjoK7wa83QfZn3gS6
- need to talk about use of iReady.
2. For families with no internet, we will be getting devices that we can get to families to access wifi. We are identifying these families from the google form you did initially, which is why updates if things change are essential.
3. When talking with parents and students about iReady:
- if students aren't on iReady for long enough each week, WHY?
- this is the #1 way our students can get tailored instruction based on their performance that will help them practice skills and move forward
- THEY NEED TO BE ON EACH WEEK FOR AT LEAST 45 minutes PER AREA!
- if students in grades k-1 have a device at home, this is the #1 thing we can encourage them to do online.
- we need to be checking at last M, W, F if not more frequently to track use and monitor to red/yellow domains. If things pop up, we need to reach out to the student to support.
- Talking with parents about how important iReady use is will be KEY!
4. If you had students with an F for a 3rd quarter grade, you will need to reach out and work with the child to help them work on concepts they didn't master over the quarter. You will do this through video conferencing, phone conversations and likely the use of iReady through assigned tasks. If this applies to you, be thinking about how you will do this effectively with students. Dawn and I will be in touch with you about what your plan is to address this.
5. We will be in touch about PGPs and getting these finalized. We will talk about this in our zoom meeting on Monday. Don't sweat!!!
6. Looks below for how to make sure that students are off google meet when you leave. Hard to monitor if you aren't there and we want to support responsible choices.
7. We will not be taking grades for 4th quarter or doing report cards. We are not collecting work from families. Make sure families understand this when you talk to them!
Grade Card/Progress Report Conferences this week
Next week will require a contact with all parents to talk about the student grade card and how things are going at home.
- Does the parent have any questions or concerns?
- What do you see as the student's strengths? What is an area for growth and how can the parent support that at home?
- Does the family still have internet? Are they doing ok with food?
- Discuss use of iReady - THIS IS IMPORTANT!
- Encourage online registration
- Summer School registration - currently working on an online version of registration
You can make these calls across the week. Keep track of your calls and enter in IC!
Please submit your conference numbers to Kaylie, Dawn and I by April 20th. The numbers will be shared as 16/17 if you did 16 conferences of 17 students in your class.

Here is a link that explains how to ensure you're kids are not able to meet on Google Meet without you!

Packet Prep
A few items to note about packets/digital learning:
- We CANNOT send paper clips, binder clips, pencils, or other bulky items in the envelopes.
- Run packet pages 2-sided to help with reducing the sheets per packet.
- No new learning can be sent to students at any time through packets or digital learning.
- Review the suggestions sent by Kelly or included by us in this newsletter when creating the packets.
Kelly's Koaching Korner
How can we continue to inspire and motivate students to work on their iReady?
Questions to ask parents if students are not showing any usage:
Do you have internet access?
Can you have your child login to iReady to ensure they have their credentials?
What else can we do to ensure students take advantage of this online learning?
One idea is to send the child’s weekly progress. Harper’s teacher sends me her weekly progress and a motivating statement with regard to her progress. Harper was surprised to learn that her teacher can “see” what she’s doing. I’ve been using this to my advantage to get her to complete her online learning.
Below is a snippet of a student’s online iReady completion, would this help inspire and motivate our students?
Miss seeing all of you and hope you are doing well. As always, if you need anything-please reach out to me!
Food
Please remind them that they can pick up food at ANY of the locations. It does NOT have to be the school they attend.
Work Schedule
The following items would be included in your weekly schedule:
Connect with students (google meet or phone calls)
Check iReady, support students as needed based on performance
Checking and responding to email
If you still need to work on template for coming weeks, organize this
