BARBER BULLETIN
Week of September 25-29
Congratulations are in order!
In order to receive the certification:
He completed 1500 supervised hours.
He completed 5 masters level courses.
He took a 4 hour competency test.
His certification was based on being in the top 25% of the other individuals that were tested on that particular test date!
There is only ONE OTHER PERSON IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT that has obtained this certification!
We are so proud of Dan for receiving such a prestigious certification in his field!
Still a few more items needed:
Now that your schedules are becoming a little more of a routine, please provide a hard copy to Janice Watson in the main office. Please include content times that are taught as well as pull out and students that are involved in pullout (RTI, Speech, Resource, etc) Thank you for providing this to Mrs. Watson by Friday, September 29.
WARD SERVICES ON ONSITE WITH US THIS WEEK
This year all benefits meetings will be scheduled on line.
Please see instructions for the on line scheduler.
All employees may schedule your own benefits meeting from any computer or Smart Phone.
Important Notes:
- It is open enrollment.
- Long Term Care Insurance is no longer offered as a state benefit. The district is providing an alternative with guaranteed issue opportunities.
- Anyone currently participating in a medical spending account MUST RE-ENROLL. These plans do not "roll over".
Nothing But Net District Event
I know the sports enthusiast among us are enjoying the return of football. In a little less than a month, however, a team of Richland Two employees will battle to reclaim the Nothing But Net Trophy while raising money to benefit the Palmetto Health Breast Center.
The third annual Nothing but Net charity basketball game between Richland Two and Richland One employees will be Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at Keenan High School. Richland Two employees who would like to play or volunteer should contact Theresa Riley Stephens for more information: triley@richland2.org or 738-3232.
The teams are tied at one win each. Come cheer Richland Two on to victory. The Nothing but Net challenge will feature a breast cancer survivor recognition during half-time, student dunk competition and more. Admission is $5 for everyone age 6 and up. Proceeds benefit the Palmetto Health Breast Center through the Walk for Life/Race for Life. Richland Two Teachers of the Year are selling tickets at schools.

PTO updates from your PTO Representatives:
Amber Brown, Ashley Saullo, and Lisa Rayner are serving as your teacher PTO reps this year. This means that they attend each PTO meeting held on the first Thursday evening of each month, and assist with the planning of all PTO events and offer input and vote on items on your behalf. That being said, PTO meetings and events are open to everyone and anyone who would like to attend. It is a great way to get to know our parents, particularly those who are heavily invested and involved in our school. And they serve snacks! :)
The PTO reps will be sharing PTO meeting notes with you following our meetings this year.
Following are some important items which need your attention!
- First, PTO would like to provide a teacher appreciation luncheon for us in November for American Education Week, and they would like our input. Please vote for your preference using this link Vote for Teacher Appreciation Luncheon before our next PTO meeting on October 5th.
- Fall Fest is Friday, October 13th. Fall Fest is not a money-making venture for PTO - it is a fun event for our families to build community and rapport. This year, we are not selling tickets for games. Instead, there will be a $1.00 admission charge per person. Pizza, Chips, and a drink will be $5.00, and bake sale items will be sold as well. Other than that, students can play all the games, etc. as many times as they want to with no tickets required, so there will be more games this year that need to be covered. The cake walk will now be a cupcake walk to allow for more participants.
- All certified staff members are expected to attend and work from 5:30 - 8:00 pm for Fall Fest. It is one of our required events in the handbook. Please complete this link no later than Tuesday, September 26th if you are certified staff and are expected to attend and work Fall Fest. Fall Fest Survey - certified staff
- If you are an assistant or non-certified staff, part-time, etc.. - If you commit to working Fall Fest from 5:30 - 8:00 pm on October 13th, then you will be allowed to leave work at 1:30 pm next Friday, September 29th. If you want to volunteer for Fall Fest in exchange for leaving early on September 29th, please complete this link no later than Tuesday, September 26th. Fall Fest Survey - non-certified staff, assistants
Thank you so much for your support! If you have any questions, please let your PTO reps know!
