A Day at Athens' Agora
Athens' agora was a busy place to be. Near the Aegean Sea goods were being bought and sold daily. A variety of activities took place at the agora including haircuts, trials, worship, political meetings, theatre, and debates.
High above the agora was the Athenian Acropolis with the Parthenon, a temple to the goddess Athen, built atop. The Parthenon was a 60 foot buiding with 46 doric columns. Inside stook a 40 foot statue of Athena made of wood and ivory.
The Athens' agora was a popular site of ancient Greece and helped make Athens a powerful and rich polis.
