The following is a message from our P.E. coaches about Jump Rope for Heart!
We are excited to announce the start of our Jump Rope for Heart unit this year as we continue to fight against heart disease. Last year we finished as a top 10 School (#7) in the state of Texas for Jump Rope for Heart! This is a great accomplishment and something we should all be proud of. This year we are going to challenge the kids to be the #1 school in Texas for fighting heart disease! We will be sending home packets this week with more information.
Over the next few weeks, we will be learning about how to take care of our hearts, spreading the message to friends and family, and helping others when we can!
The American Heart Association’s goal is to improve the cardiovascular health of Americans. We will challenge our kids to start living a healthy lifestyle now to prevent problems later; and give them an opportunity to participate in a service learning project that funds the fight against heart diseases and stroke – the #1 and #5 cause of death in our country.
Any student who registers at heart.org/jump and raises at least $200 online during Jump Rope For Heart will receive Toby and his glow accessory to have as a Jump Buddy during our Glowathon. (The Glowathon is our JRFH celebration during specials on March 3rd)
