Thank you for attending our Annual Closing Ceremony!

As we continue to grow as a school. our events get bigger and bigger. We are so thankful to our exceptional teachers and their students for all of their hard work on the presentations. Ms. Irene worked tirelessly to bring you a sample of the extraordinarily serious music studies, that she has carried out with her classes this year. The elementary students once again awed us with their skills on the recorder, their French pronunciations for Ms. Andrea, and their memorization of two very complex plays.

Because of the nature and enthusiasm of small children, we know that these events can be a little chaotic, but we were grateful for your patience, and students, congratulations for a job well done!

We have printed a few more Closing Ceremony brochures if you were unable to obtain one at the event. Please drop into the office to pick one up.

Have a safe and peaceful summer!

CLASS NEWS

Class 204 - Ms. Becky & Ms. Dilia

In the month of May we started off with a beautiful hand-print "Bouquet of Flowers" for Mom, on "Mothers Day." We celebrated "Cinco de Mayo" with music, Mexican cookies, and the children colored a copy of the "Mexican Flag." Class 204 then learned about the "Solar System," and the history of "Memorial Day." We ended the year with an "Inside picnic," we had "Super Sundaes" and watched a movie.

We have had a wonderful year with your child. We want to thank our wonderful Room Parents for your excellent work for the Gala, and for making every class event special. We look forward to see our many returning students for both Summer Academy and for the 2015-2016 School Year. We wish all of our graduates a safe and happy summer, and wish them all an enjoyable time at their new school.

Class 206 - Ms. Theresa & Ms. Stephanie

In May, we learned about "Cinco De mayo." The children made flour tortillas, saw Mexican attire and artifacts, enjoyed Mexican music, and watched a video on Mexican Culture. They also enjoyed "Pan De Dulce" (Mexican sweet bread). The children learned about the "Solar System" and made solar system mobiles. They learned the song "The Family of the Sun." The class learned about "Patriotism" for our country and about the holiday of "Memorial Day."

We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to each of the families of Class 206. Thank you for all of your help during the 2014-2105 school year, with field trips, parties, our Gala, and with anything that you have helped Ms. Stephanie and me with. Words cannot express the gratitude that we have for all you have done for our class.

We would like to wish each of our graduates all the best for the next school year: Connor in Kindergarten, and Ameena, Emma, Cameron and Marty in First Grade here at Kingwood Montessori or at any other schools that you will attend. You have made us proud of everything that you have accomplished, and we know that each of you will be a wonderful addition to any environment. You will all be greatly missed and always remember that each of you hold a very special place in our hearts.

To all of our returning students for the 2015-2106 school year, it bring us much happiness to have you return to Kingwood Montessori, so that we can continue to see each of you blossom and grow in our environment.

Class 208 - Ms. Peggy & Ms. Trish

This month the children enjoyed "Cinco de Mayo" and learning about some of the daily routines and life in Mexico. Their colorful and festive tissue paper flowers, made our classroom beautiful. As part of our study of the "Life Cycle of a Sunflower," the children’s sunflower seedlings went home to be planted in the ground. The children have also come a long way with their abilities to stand and speak in front of their classmates and enjoy presenting at "Show and Share." We have had a great first spring semester in Class 208 and thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing everyone after a fun and family-filled summer.

Class 210 - Ms. Richelle, Ms. Paloma & Ms. Catherine

What a great school year this has been for class 210. We personally would like to thank all the parents for all the hard work and dedication you gave to our room. It has been nothing but joy watching your children grow in our environment. We are going to miss our friends, that won’t be joining us for summer or returning in the fall, but we are excited for the ones that are staying as well. Again thank you for everything.

Class 212 - Ms. Andrea & Ms. Mukta

The students have worked very hard preparing their program, “We Come From Everywhere.” They’ve worked equally hard in French and Music preparing pieces to perform. We are so proud of all their achievements this year. One noteworthy accomplishment is their civic engagement project: supporting a local mission trip to the Dominican Republic to help the sugar cane workers of La Romana. The students lovingly created craft items to sell in order to raise money for water filters and they collected many items like receiving blankets, gently used shoes, school supplies, medicines, and baby clothes. This was a lovely finale to their Peace and Service course.

Class 214 - Ms. Kate & Ms. Sarah

We have had an excellent year in upper elementary. We are so proud of the students' incredible accomplishments. They have grown academically and socially, created detailed research reports, expanded their leadership skills, produced magnificent productions and are a wonderful group of role models for the other students. As the year winds down, the students are excited to perform their final production of the year, U.S. Presidents by John Heath and Ron Fink. Thank you to all for making the year such a success. A special thanks to Debbie Hughes, who has been wonderfully involved in our classroom throughout the year. Thanks also go to Barbara Hanson, Nuzhat Mazhar and Betty Chambers for their generosity, help and support.
