NATURAL DISASTERS

More shoking photos.

What are the natural disasters?

There are the resulting form natural processes of the Earth. Natural disasters cause loss of lige or property damage, economic problems and other problems.

Some examples of the natural disasters are: floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis and other geologic processes.

Are there dangerous?

Yes, they are. Natural disasters resulting in a lot of deaths and a lot of destructions. There are a bad thing for us, so they are very dangerous.

How natural disasters form?

Well, it's very difficult explain this, because each natural disaster has got a different origin. But, we know that the humans aren't the cause..

Well... C'mon, we'll see each natural disaster separately!!!!

EARTHQUAKE

Phenomenon in which transiently it shakes the earth's crust. It occurs upon release stored energy in the form of seismic waves.

This natural disaster produces a lot of deaths, because building and construction fall. The roads open too.

What should we do in an earthquake?

Seismograph

It's an instrumen that measures motion of the ground. It uses to prevent earthquakes.

FLOODS

A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land which is usually dry. It happens because of torrential rains, rivers, seaquakes, rising tides, etc.

It's dangerous because everything floods, and you can't walk on the street. It causes a lot of deaths too.

The water destroys everything.

Let's go to see a short video of the flooding in Texas.

HURRICANE

Is a rapidly rotating sotrm system characterized by a low-preassure center, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain. It's very dangerous.

What would we do in a Hurricane?

TSUNAMI

Is a seismic sea wave, is a series of waves in a water body caused by the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a large lake.

The tsunami destroys everything, because this wave has lot a lot of strength and it's very very dangerous. It causes a lot of deaths, damage and other bad things.

In the film "The Impossible" we can see a tsunami, and everything that it destroyes. It's a film based on a true story. In it we can see everything that happens before, during and after the tsunami. Let's go to see a piece of this film, in particular, the part of the tsunami.

Drought

Is a period of below-average precipitation in a given region, resulting in prolonged shortages in its waters supply, whether atmospheric, surface or ground water.

It's the worst thing for the agriculture and the ecosystem.

This map shows the world, and the risk of drought of each.

Drought produces a lot of deaths because we need water to survive.

VOLCANIC ERUPTION

When this happen, the volcano expels lava, gases, rocks, and other things.

It's dangerous because lava is a hot material, and it destroyes everything. And the gases are a bad thing of the humanity.

In the next photo we can see the parts of the volcanic eruption.
