Long Range Facility Planning Committee Begins Work
The Gainesville ISD Long Range Facility Planning Committee met last week to begin evaluating district facility needs and plan for the future. Here's a recap of what they learned and discussed.

Superintendent DesMontes Stewart, Ed.D., shared information about Gainesville ISD's history of bond election and the committee discussed lessons learned from previous elections.
The committee also learned about the state of construction and escalation and growth happening in the community. Construction costs have risen nearly 150% since Gainesville High School opened in 2006.
Joe Warren, director of maintenance and operations, shared information about upcoming construction projects the district plans to complete over the summer using limited available funds in the maintenance and operations budget.
