With January under our belts, I feel we are one step closer to warmer weather!! Who's with me?? I don't know about you but the first couple months of the year always make me feel so blah and bored out of my mind!!! Gotta love midwest living! Lately, I've been diffusing Lemongrass which I am pretty sure is my new favorite because it smells so fresh and exactly how I imagine summertime to be! Cue Olaf singing "In Summer"...Plus it acts as an air purifier, so oils for the win yet again! Valentine's Day is right around the corner and February is also known as the month of love, so I am going to choose to love myself and really work on my fitness and eating smarter...January was a trial month anyways, so whatever...bye Felicia! Hellooooo February! I plan on utilizing some oils from our new Vitality collection to help get this party started. Be sure to check them out below!

Have you seen posts on Oil Krazy or The Oils of Our Lives about this new Vitality line? Vitality essential oils come in regular bottles wrapped in white labels with lovely, colorful titles. The purpose behind the Vitality oils? A white label means that they are safe for proper internal usage.

Now, that said, the oils aren’t really new. The labels are, yes, but in reality, these are oils that Young Living was already selling (so if you already have some of these they ARE safe for consumption, just labeled differently). What’s setting them apart is that these ones are labeled for internal usage whereas the regular essential oils are labeled for aromatic and topical usage. If you’re wondering, that means that, yes, they are the exact same oils. For example, Lime Vitality essential oil is exactly the same as regular Lime essential oil. But, because of FDA’s regulations on essential oils, they must be marked separately.

I found a great explanation in a blog I follow comparing Young Living’s essential oils to coconut oil. Here's the cliff notes version....

In a typical grocery store or health food store, there is coconut oil down the baking aisle that is marketed for food usage. Then, when you go down the supplement aisle, there is more coconut oil (often by the same company) that is labeled for topical usage. What’s the difference? Absolutely nothing except the label. The coconut oil from the baking aisle that is used in cooking and smoothies is the exact same coconut oil from the supplement section that is used for topical things such as a moisturizer. But because the FDA has separate categories for topical and internal usage, they must be labeled separately.

Young Living’s essential oils are the same. Vitality is labeled for internal usage and the regular oils for topical and aromatic usage. But the oils of the same kind are equal in every way–they come from the same farms, from the same plants, are bottled the same way, and so on. The only difference is the label. And now you're in the loop!

You want blemish-free skin that glows?

There are oils for that, of course! Lately, my face has been looking quite subpar and I mostly blame my crazy hormones trying to get back to normal from chemotherapy and then also eating like a piggy, piggy. So I found this recipe below and fell in love...best part, it's incredibly easy to make!

  • Add 1/2 cup coconut oil to a mixing bowl and with an electric, hand mixer whip for 2-3 minutes until it is light and fluffy.
  • Stir in 10-15 drops of Frankincense, 10-15 drops of Lavender, and 10-15 drops of Tea Tree essential oils. Mix well.
  • Scoop into a 4 ounce glass jar with an airtight lid and store in a cool, dark place.
  • Apply to skin as needed. (I've been putting it on nightly)
