We are happy to announce that we have a new VMMS Community Liaison, please welcome Arthur Flores to our school! Mr. Flores is bilingual so he can support families in both English and Spanish, and families are welcome to reach out to Mr. Flores with any questions or needs: arthurflores@vistausd.org.
Please be aware that all before and after school Learning Labs ended last week. There will be no more Learning Lab meetings for the remainder of this school year. We appreciate all the student participation and parent support for Learning Labs this year, and we will offer Learning Labs again in the next school year.
This week all VMMS students will begin their annual CAASPP state tests to measure their learning in math and language arts, and 8th graders will also have a test in science. VMMS students will begin testing on May 2nd, and tests will be spaced out over the following two weeks so students only have two days of testing each week. Students will have test sessions in the mornings and attend regular classes in the afternoon, and our school start and end time will remain normal each day. Please make sure your students bring their charged Chromebooks each day, get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time and ready to do their best!
This week VMMS is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week! Please join your counselors during lunch time to participate in fun activities all week, and please see our website for more information.

Estamos felices en anunciar que tenemos un nuevo enlace comunitario en VMMS, ¡favor de dar la bienvenida a Arthur Flores a nuestra escuela! Sr. Flores es bilingüe así que pueda apoyar a nuestras familias en Inglés y Español, y las familias están bienvenidos a contactar al Sr. Flores con cualquier pregunta o necesidad: arthurflores@vistausd.org.
Favor de estar consciente que los laboratorios de aprendizaje antes y después de la escuela terminaron la semana anterior. No se reunirán por el resto del año escolar. Agradecemos toda la participación estudiantil y apoyo de los padres por estos laboratorios este año, y ofreceremos laboratorios de aprendizaje otra vez en el próximo año.
Esta semana todos los estudiantes en VMMS empezaran las pruebas estatales anuales del CAASPP para medir su aprendizaje de matemáticas y lengua y literatura, y los estudiantes del 8º grado también tendrán una prueba de ciencias. Los estudiantes en VMMS empezarán las pruebas el 2 de mayo y los tomarán separados por las dos semanas que siguen. Los estudiantes solamente tienen dos días de pruebas cada semana. Los estudiantes tomarán las pruebas en las mañanas y asisten a sus clases regulares en las tardes, y el horario para la entrada y salida de la escuela sigue igual. Son días regulares cada día. Favor de asegurar que su estudiante trae su Chromebook cargado cada día, que duermen bien, que comen un desayuno saludable, y que lleguen a tiempo y ¡listo para hacer su mejor!
¡Esta semana estamos celebrando la semana de la salud mental! Favor de juntarse con su consejera durante el almuerzo para participar en actividades divertidas por toda la semana, y favor de revisar nuestra página para más información.
