Santa Rosa Charter School for the Arts
National Bullying Prevention Month - October Has Been a Time to Raise Awareness
What does this look like?
For our Tk-3rd Grade classes, Counselor Vern Dahl has brought in the Kimochis. Kimochis are an elementary social emotional learning curriculum to give children the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to recognize and manage their emotions, demonstrate caring and concern for others, establish positive relationships, make responsible decisions, and handle challenging situations constructively. The Kimochis incorporates innovative and fun activities developed to teach children how to manage challenging social situations with skill, character and confidence.
For our 4th and up grade levels, Counselor Elizabeth Saunders and our Restorative Specialist Alesana Sunia (aka Mr. Sana) have discussion groups driven by questions from our students framed within the following slide presentation.
