Third Grade Hornet Happenings
Mrs. Dozier's Class
Parents Corner- Week of September 21, 2015
Field Study: Historic Brattonsville
Our class will attend this trip on Wednesday September 29th. The students will discover and explore life in the 1840s. They'll participate in a grammar lesson, quill pen writing lesson, a geography lesson, and much more. It will be a fun and exciting learning opportunity. A permission slip is included in your child's Tuesday Communication Folder. Please sign and return the permission slip as soon as possible.
Chaperones are not required for this trip. Teachers will serve as chaperones. If you are interested in chaperoning any future field studies, please be sure to complete the Volunteer Form on the Rock Hill School District website for approval. If you have any questions about this process, please call the office at 981-1910 or email me.
Lunch: The cafeteria will be preparing a student lunch indicative of the time era. We encourage all students to purchase lunch through the cafeteria, unless there are dietary restrictions, in order to better experience student life during that era of time.
Scootpad
I will begin using the Scootpad app in the classroom to reinforce skills. Your child knows their Username and Password, but we will add this to their agenda. This site can be accessed via computer, tablet or Ipad (anywhere there is internet access). They will receive assignments based on their needs. All assignments have a due date and they must score 80% on the assignment before being released from that skill. They can also do Math, Reading & Language practice anytime at home.
