CSE, 504, & CPSE Information
According to the NYS Education Department, The Committee on Special Education (CSE), Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and the 504 Committees are not required to meet in person while schools are closed.
CSE/504/CPSE meetings will be held virtually utilizing Google Meet: Dial by Phone through June 30, 2020. Invitation letters are being mailed for meetings scheduled during this time period. We will revisit how meetings will be held after 6/30/20 once additional guidance is given to districts by the New York State Education Department.
CSE Meetings: The special education case managers will be reaching out to parents confirm we have accurate phone numbers and email addresses. A few days before the meeting, the case managers will be sending a phone number and access code for parents to dial into the meetings.
504 Meetings: The school psychologists will be reaching out to parents confirm we have accurate phone numbers and email addresses. A few days before the meeting, the case managers will be sending a phone number and access code for parents to dial into the meetings.
CPSE Meetings: PPS Clerical staff will be reaching out to parents confirm we have accurate phone numbers and email addresses. A few days before the meeting, the case managers will be sending a phone number and access code for parents to dial into the meetings.
If your child was being evaluated through CSE or 504, the evaluation process will be viewed on a case by case basis to determine if testing can be completed virtually. If it is determined that face to face testing is required, testing will resume when the school district opens. Testing will occur in the order of the referral dates to CSE & 504. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
