Learning Spotlight

For the last few weeks, Ms. Blume's students have been learning about different kinds of stories - fairy tales, tall tales, legends, fables AND folk tales. They explored stories from different cultures. They learned how folk tales were handed down through oral tradition from generation to generation. Some were written down and some were simply told as stories. Ms. Blume arranged for students to experience this oral tradition with our own "professional" storyteller, Ms. Mueller. Novelty and a unique first hand experiences brought storytelling to life for the kids!

Ms. Drackett's Spanish II students have been creating their own unique travel journals. They learned through researching destinations in Spanish speaking countries and used their language skills to create the story of their travels. The opportunity to be self-directed and apply their knowledge to real world scenarios created an engaging experience for students to commemorate their vacaciones fantasticas!
