Grade Back Pass
Grade Pass Back is a valuable, time saving tool for syncing your myLearning (Canvas) gradebook with your myStudent gradebook. This eliminates the work of having to enter information into two different systems. It requires some simple, careful setup initially. Here are several things that may cause errors when setting up Grade Pass Back:
- Gradebooks cannot be combined in myStudent
- Assignment categories must be identical in both myStudent and myLearning (including capitalization and spacing)
- Assignments must be in a category in myLearning that matches one in myStudent
- Assignments must have due dates in the current term. For Q1 that is between 8/10-10/15. Of note is that you may decide to give students until teacher planning day to turn in work. The due date in myLearning must still be no later than 10/15 because that is the end of the term in the system. Anything with due dates of 10/16, 17, or 18 will be not be recognized since Q2 does not begin until 10/19.
The following video is a walkthrough of setting up the Pass Back and how to sync your grades.
Grade Pass Back Walkthrough Video
If you experience issues, please email Matt Bruno at mbruno@pasco.k12.fl.us and include the following information:
- A link to the myLearning course(s) you are having issues with
- A brief description of your problem or error message, and the name/student number of any students you may be experiencing specific issues with
- Any other pertinent information

Music
Florida Orchestra
Florida Orchestra concerts in Pasco have been cancelled. The Youth Concert Series is made possible by collaborating with Pinellas and Hillsborough. Hillsborough was having difficulty navigating COVID and filling seats. Pinellas was having similar issues. These challenges along with the optics of having indoor venues full of students prompted the Florida Orchestra to cancel the youth concerts in all three counties.
There will be continued conversations with the Florida Orchestra to offer future performance opportunities in Pasco.

Hispanic Heritage Month Art and Essay Contest
During Hispanic Heritage Month, Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis invite all Florida students to participate in the 2021 Hispanic Heritage Month art and essay contests with the theme of “Celebrating Hispanic-American Community Leaders and Champions.” To ensure Florida students have an opportunity to participate, the deadline for all submissions is 5:00 pm Eastern Time on Monday, October 11, 2021.
Students in grades K-3 have a chance to win a cash prize by submitting their original artwork, and students in grades 4-12 can earn a 4-year Florida Prepaid Scholarship through the essay contest. In addition, students, parents, teachers and principals are invited to nominate full-time educators in elementary, middle and high schools for the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated September 15-October 15, 2021, and is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the countless contributions of Hispanic Americans in our state’s history. I hope your teachers will incorporate this theme in their lesson plans and instruction so all students have the chance to take full advantage of this opportunity to enhance their appreciation for Hispanic American History and prepare financially for their own future education aspirations.
Student contest forms and educator nomination forms must be mailed to Volunteer Florida or submitted online at www.FloridaHispanicHeritage.com.
