Classical Conversations Doylestown

Weekly Update - Week 14 - 1/19/16

Scripture for Meditation

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. Acts 17:24-27 (ESV)

Prayer Request

Please pray for the Criger family as they mourn the loss of a family member to cancer. She leaves behind her husband, 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter. We can be celebrating that she is pain free in heaven, but bear one another burdens as this is a loss for their family.

Abraham Burleigh is home from the hospital and on the mend. Please continue to pray for complete healing and patience as he longs to get back to his regular activities.

Standardized Testing

At Classical Conversations Testing Services, we believe that standardized testing is an important part of preparing students for college entrance exams, whether your state mandates testing or not. We take a very pragmatic attitude towards testing: The test results are not as important as the skill of test-taking, though achievement tests do provide parents with reliable data for evaluating prog ress in language and math skills. Each year, we offer local, on-site testing for grades 3–12 through our communities. We are looking for a homeschool parent from this community to coordinate testing this year. Parent Off Campus Policy

I want to remind everyone that a parent needs to be on campus with your children at all times. If a situation arises where you need to leave, another parent must be willing to act as guardian, I need to be informed and have a note in writing and signed by both parties. Please speak to me if you have any questions.

Help Needed for Morning Childcare

I sent a sign-up around to the Challenge moms to volunteer in the AM for our Childcare. We'll need parents from our group to also help out, that list will go around the each class on 1/19. Thank you!
