Oil Pollution
Don't RE-Dump RE-Cycle!
How much is too much...
Approximately 706 MILLION gallons of oil get in to the oceans every year and its no accident.
Not only does this affect the marine life but humans too. Oil spills contaminate fish and other food species which make them uneatable for humans.
It can also cause grave problems like interrupting the food chain on which fish and sea creatures depend on which can cause specie populations to change or even disappear.
Solution!
More than half of all Americans change their own oil. But how much of that used oil is actually recycled? Only about 1/3.
What you can do(:
Increase awareness of the hazards of dumping used oil and the benefits of reusing it.
There are thousands of collection centers and service stations accepting used oil for recycling. Look for one in your area!
