Mrs. Gale's 3rd Grade Class

Gulf Elementary

3rd Grade 2018-2019

Welcome to our classroom. Here you will find helpful information, contact information, and links to help support your child at home.

Language Arts

This year your child will be taking weekly reading assessments to show understanding of standards being taught in the classroom. These tests have a high level of rigor so it is important for students to be taking their time and reading carefully. Along with Reading Street, we will also be using readworks, novel studies, and other literature to teach the standards necessary to be successful in 3rd grade.

Every Thursday a weekly study guide will go home for students to study. This will ensure comprehension of the weekly skills.

Math

Students will be using Go Math along with other resources in 3rd grade. Please be sure to check planner daily for math homework. **Math homework may not always be assigned. If you need any help with the math homework, please use the Go Math link for informational videos.

AR

Accelerated Reader is important in building and increasing student independent reading and comprehension skills. Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes each night. It is helpful to ask your child questions regarding the text they are reading to practice comprehension skills.
