Shift to Remote Learning
Letter to Our Families
Cardinal Elementary Families,
Due to the increasing absentee rate of students in our district, we have made the difficult decision to shift to remote learning effective Tuesday, April 20th. We have made this decision to ensure that we provide an equitable education for all of our students. It is difficult for teachers to plan and teach both in-person and online. With the shift to remote learning, all students will have the same access to instruction from their teacher.
Tuesday, April 20th will be a planning day so teachers can prepare for remote learning. We will begin remote learning on Wednesday, April 21st. Please see the attached link to review the Cardinal Elementary Remote Learning Plan. Please contact your child’s teacher to make arrangements to pick up chromebooks if your student does not have theirs at home.
Our tentative date to return to face-to-face instruction is Tuesday, April 27th. The district will continue to monitor the data and will communicate to the community if there are changes to our return to face to face instruction. We will continue to keep our district and PTO pages updated and use Remind to communicate information.
The school office will be open to take calls. Please contact the school office at 760-1700 if your student has tested positive, has been identified as a close contact, or develops symptoms.
Food service will be distributing meals on Wednesday at Cardinal Elementary from 11:30-1:00 and at the High School from 2:30-4:00.
