PRAYER

Dear God,

In this season of Lent, we’re reminded of our own difficulties and struggles. Sometimes the way has seemed too dark. Sometimes we feel like our lives have been marked by such grief and pain, we don’t see how our circumstance can ever change. But in the midst of our weakness, we ask that you would be strong on our behalf. Lord, rise up within us, let your Spirit shine out of every broken place we’ve walked through. Allow your power to be manifest through our own weakness, so that others will recognize it is You who is at work on our behalf. We ask that you would trade the ashes of our lives for the beauty of your Presence. Trade our mourning and grief for the oil of joy and gladness from your Spirit. Trade our despair for hope and praise. We choose to give you thanks today and believe that this season of darkness will fade away. Thank you that you are with us in whatever we face and that you are greater than this trial. We know and recognize that you are Sovereign, we thank you for the victory that is ours because of Christ Jesus, and we are confident that you have good still in store for our future. We thank you that you are at work right now, trading our ashes for greater beauty. We praise you, for you make all things new.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

KEWASKUM CUB SCOUTS

The Kewaskum Cub Scouts had their Pinewood Derby this past weekend.

Here is an email we received about the event!

Congratulations to everyone that participated in the 2020-2021 Pinewood Derby this last Sunday! It was so fun to see the cars people came up with!

The following Scouts have qualified to attend the District Derby on April 17th. The top 5 for speed and the top 5 for show (scouts can only attend in one category) are listed below.

The District Derby is being held at the Dodge County Airport in Juneau, Wisconsin, in one of the airplane hangars. Check in starts at 9:00 am and racing goes on through the day.

Please let me know asap either way if you are able to attend. The Pack will get you signed up on line and pay for your registration. If you are unable to attend PLEASE let me know right away as this opens up a spot for the next scout in line to attend.

I have also attached a copy of the Pinewood Derby Rules for 2020. Please look them over to be sure you follow the rules for the cars. They look closer at the wheels and the axels at District and will weigh in each car the same as we did. There may be a couple new rules from last year with social distancing, however the car rules should be the same as listed.

Congratulations again to the following finishers!
Speed:
1. Parker Brown (195.70)
2. Logan Christian (189.37)
3. Vincent Mertz (188.98)
4. Emmett Staffin (188.92)
5. Malachi Schellinger (186.80)
Show:
1. Kaedan Gruss
2. Grant Schellinger
3. Levi Bahr
4. Ben Herbst
5. Zachary Zwicker

A NOTE FROM Mrs. Longden

The end of the second trimester is Friday, March 5th. The year has been flying by. We will be sending report cards home March 17th.

Students have been doing a nice job on the ITBS tests.

Thank you to those who have turned in your tuition and registration forms. Reminder: The instructional fee increases after March 6th.

If you would like our school families to pray for specific intentions please send them with your child or email them to school. Each morning we say prayers of supplication and say a prayer together keeping those intentions in our minds.
