I am looking to optimize the library and make it a welcoming and desirable place to be, not only for students, but teachers too! The first project was to get the fiction section into genres. Now students can navigate without, necessarily, needing to consult the online catalog.
Moving the sign ups online was another change that hopefully helps make your prep period more functional. No need to come down to the library to consult a sheet of paper. Now you can sign up whenever, wherever and receive email reminders as well. Thank you for being understanding as this new process got underway. There were a couple of kinks but the system is running smoothly now.
Weeding the massive amount of periodicals is also underway. If you would like me to save a box for your class, please send me an email! That being said, please let me know if there is a subscription, addition to the library , or database that you would like me to add to the library's collection. I keep a running list for next years purchase orders and would love everyone's input.
I want you to know that I am available for all of your classes! If you have a project and would like to include database research, print sources, primary sources, etc, I can help you with lesson support using these library features. Also bibliographies are my specialty and I would love to help you incorporate these into your projects with citation introduction and locating the information within these sources.
This newsletter will be monthly. Please look out for our next issue in which you will find helpful hints, tech tools, mini citation lessons, and new library additions!
I look forward to a wonderful school year and happy reading!
