Superintendent's Report
June 24, 2019
From the Desk of Dr. Steve Yanni...
From Seniors to Graduates to Alum - On Tuesday, June 11th we entered Cardinal Stadium to celebrate our 2019 graduates. Even though the weather did not cooperate on our original date for commencement, we had extraordinary graduation ceremony honoring extraordinary students. A big thank you to our graduates and the UDHS administration and staff for making the event memorable!
Welcome - We have two new faces with us this evening. Ms. Ashley Kitten, our Director of Human Resources and Mr. Dave Hoffman, Chief Academic Officer are both attending their first "official" UDSD Legislative meeting. Welcome aboard! We look forward to seeing the impact of your leadership in Upper Dublin.
The Final Meeting - This will be the final Legislative meeting for both Ms. Brenda Jones Bray, our CFO and Mr. Tom Sigafoos, our Director of Human Resources. We thank them both for years of dedicated service to Upper Dublin! Your leadership has shaped our District in many ways.
Staffing for SY 2019-2020 - As we look at our enrollment for next school year, I am pleased to report that we are within class size guidelines. We will, of course, continue to monitor enrollment as we move through the summer and registration continues. As an FYI - In terms of kindergarten, we are at three (3) sections at both JTES and TFES, four (4) sections at MGES, and five (5) sections at FWES.
Strategic Action Planning - Tonight the Board of School Directors will take action to approve our Strategic Plan. This plan - actually the complete set of plans - articulates goals and action steps needed to move our District forward. Every decision we make must be made with best interests of our students in mind. Please click here to access our Strategic Plan.
Special Thanks - As noted in my blog and in "Building our Future," last week's rains caused water to enter SRMS. Thank you to our District crews for assisting with the initial clean up. Professionals have been onsite continuing the clean up and we will ensure appropriate air quality by conducting tests in the coming days.
Stakeholder Survey - Over the summer we will release a stakeholder survey to garner the community's perceptions of our District. We anticipate that survey to be sent in mid-July.
