A Message From Principal Choquette 5/24/19
Dear Families,
I hope you all had a nice week. We are beginning to wind down the school year with end of the year activities. If you are planning on volunteering for field trips or for anything at school such as field day, you must get a CORI. Families may not attend field day with their children and if you would like to volunteer to work at field day please stop in and fill out the CORI paperwork. The office that takes care of the CORI checks is backed up, so you should anticipate a couple of weeks for the CORI to go through. Our field day is June 7th, 2 weeks from today! Also, if you are volunteering to work at field day, the PTO will be covering the cost of your lunch. Thank you PTO!
We've had some issues come up on the playground with students throwing rocks and brining rocks to school from home as well as digging them up and putting them in the clubhouse. Yesterday, we had some students throw rocks over the fence at the construction site hitting one of the workers. I received a call from the head of the construction project asking me to speak to the students about it. If you could also have a conversation at home, it would be greatly appreciated.
We are still waiting to hear about the Breakfast in the Classroom/Breakfast for all grant. I am hopeful that we will received this grant and will be able to feed all of our students breakfast at no charge.
Have a great weekend.

SASH-Northampton High Schoolers
Bridge Street School families,
We would love to invite any and all interested 4th and 5th graders to join our student-run after school program, SASH. SASH is a program that teaches and encourages social emotional learning, and works to bridge the gap between high school and elementary school students. Our work is based on the arts; music, writing, acting and improv, and mixed media. Our goal is to create a place where students feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings through these creative focuses. This program will run once a week, and at the end of our 10 week session we will be hosting a final showcase at Northampton High School. We are so happy and excited to be sharing this program with your students this coming fall. Permission slips and sign up sheets will be delivered in September of 2019.
Best,
SASH
