End of Year Procedures

Dear EPES Families,

As our Cloud School experience comes to an end for this school year, we need to collect iPads, library books, and any other items that might need to be returned to school. Additionally, there may be items that your child has left at school prior to school closure that we need to get to you before summer break. We will be using the days of May 19th-21st (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) for this process.


As much as we would love nothing more than to hug each and every one of our students and see everyone’s smiling faces, this is unfortunately not the time for that.


Due to current restrictions, this process will be very organized and staged in such a way that we maintain all county, state and federal guidelines surrounding face coverings, social distancing, etc. In order to follow these guidelines, please read the steps below very carefully to ensure we maintain all of the precautions necessary to keep everyone safe.


This is a collective effort, so please be absolutely sure that you follow all of our guidelines in order to allow for us to be in compliance. We have close to 500 students in our school, so it is critical that we follow the steps outlined below. Thank you in advance for doing so.

What will this process look like?

After careful consideration of all of our options to facilitate a drop-off / pick-up procedure for all 500 of our students, we have decided that we will be using a drive-through process scheduled over a period of three days, May 19, 20, and 21.


Parents will be asked to come to the school on their assigned day at their assigned time, stay in their cars, wear a face covering, and drive-through the designated areas listed below. This will allow for us to maintain all of the regulations outlined by our government agencies, and be very efficient with this process.


Students ARE allowed to come with you to school for this process, but please remember that we are NOT exiting vehicles, and everyone must be wearing a mask.


Based upon the numbers pulled from our student database system, if everyone follows the schedule listed below by first letter of last name, there should be no more than 15 cars pulling through each drive through location at any given time.


What COVID-19 guidelines do I need to follow while on school campus?

  • Anyone on school campus will be required to wear a mask at all times

  • Anyone on school campus will be required to social distance at all times

What will happen when I pull up to my designated drive-through location?

  • Pull as far forward as possible (similar to morning drop-off)

  • Stay in your vehicle

  • Pay close attention to staff members directing traffic.

  • A staff member will approach your car and speak with you through your rolled down window, respecting social distancing space, and wearing a mask. Please remember that you are required to wear a mask while on school campus, even while interacting with our staff members from your car.

What do I need to bring with me to school?

  • iPad (in the case that it was sent home in)

  • Apple brand charging block. This needs to be the larger charging block, not the smaller one that comes with some iPhones.

  • Charging cord

  • Library books

  • Any other school property


*You will be handing all of these items to the staff member that has approached your car.

What will I be picking up from school?

Any personal belongings that your child has left at school will be put into a bag ahead of time by your child’s homeroom teacher, and given to you at this time.

Where do I go when I arrive at school?

We have 2 drive-through locations. We will not be allowing anyone in the school building during this time. Please arrive no earlier than your assigned time.


If you have a child in more than one grade level and they have seperate drive-through locations, please pull through one of the locations first, then to the second location next. This is important. We will not be able to pick-up or deliver your items to you from a location that is not specific to your child’s grade level.

Drive-through Locations: (based upon 2019-20 school year)


  • Kindergarten - 3rd Grade:

    • Enter the school parking lot just as you normally would

    • Pull up as far forward as possible along the curb, all the way down towards the Community Center. There will be staff directing traffic, so please pay close attention and follow directions.

  • 4th-5th Grade:

    • Instead of turning left into the school parking lot after entering off of Brodie, continue straight towards the Middle School. You will then be directed to turn left behind the Elementary School into the small parking lot behind the 5th grade classrooms. You will be directed to pull up along the curb.
