A Huge Thank You for Your Support!
Thank you for coming to Open House. We appreciate your support! If you have questions about our Title I plan, schoolwide goals, or how monies are being spent, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for further clarification.
We are focusing on student growth and achievement at Chukker Creek Elementary School. We are teaching our students to use success criteria, checklists, and rubrics to monitor their own learning and provide peer feedback to each other!
We are preparing for our 2nd Schoolwide CBIS event! CBIS stands for Chukker Creek Behavioral Interventions and Supports! We will be positively incentivizing our students who meet their academic and behavioral goals. To participate in our September 29 event, students must complete 30-45 minutes of Dream Box and 30-45 minutes of Imagine Learning or Exact Path each week for the month AND have no office referrals for the month! Classes must ALSO display teamwork and kindness towards each other. Our students are working hard to meet their goals.
Homework. We would like for each of our students to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night to improve oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. We can provide you with with a list of reading strategies and leveled comprehension questions. Please reach out to your students' teachers if you would like for us to provide you with literacy resources.
What can students do who have NO homework or say they are BORED???? See below.
Kindergarten through fifth grade students are also encouraged to do Dream Box at home. This provides practice with solving math problems. Students can log on using clever.
The Exact Path (Edmentum) platform can be used by our 3rd - 5th grade students to get additional reading support. K - 2nd graders can get extra reading practice using the Imagine Learning platform. Students can log on using Clever.
In addition to our school's Leader in Me initiative, we have developed 5 schoolwide rules for our students. They are:
1. Respect the rights, feelings, and property of others.
2. Walk, save your running for the playground.
3. Use an appropriate tone of voice.
4. Follow all directions given by school personnel, the first time.
5. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Please help us by reviewing the school wide rules with your students and encouraging them to work hard to meet our schoolwide academic and behavioral expectations.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Evans
Would you like to wish your students a Happy Birthday? See the attachment below!

We ask our students the following 3 questions when we visit classrooms:
2. Why is it important?
3. How will you know when you've learned it?
You can support us by asking our students the same 3 questions!
